Jan Heiberg Johansen

Jan Heiberg Johansen is an independent leadership consultant and Associate Professor in Organization and Leadership on the Master of Public Governance program at Aalborg University (AAU). He has many years of experience as a consultant and leader, including roles as Head of Advisory Services, Deputy Director, and Center Director. Jan originally trained in the history of ideas and holds an Executive MBA from Henley Business School, University of Reading.

Jan is a recognized expert in organization and leadership, including paradoxical leadership and leader well-being, and he publishes regularly on leadership in national and international journals.

He is behind the initiative “Strengthen Leaders’ Well-Being and Results”—a partnership between professional organisations and employer organisations with the ambition to make leader well-being an integrated part of everyday leadership practice.

He publishes regularly and is the author of the books Paradoksledelse – Jagten på værdi i kompleksitet (DJØF, 2018) and Paradox Management – Contradictions and Tensions in Complex Organizations (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019).
