Mads Leonhardt Thomsen

Mads has worked with organizational and leadership development for the past 20 years and brings broad experience from large international companies such as Maersk, Carlsberg, and Nordea. He has served as Senior Business Partner and led HR teams at Maersk, worked as Senior Business Partner for the CCO at Carlsberg, and been Head of Talent Development at Nordea. Through these various HR and leadership roles, Mads has gained a solid understanding of the importance of leadership in creating cultures and organizations that realize their potential and achieve their business goals.

Since 2018, Mads has run his own consultancy, working with numerous large Danish and international companies on all aspects of leadership development. He has a particular strength in anchoring learning within organizations by closely linking development efforts to internal processes, structures, and collaboration interfaces, ensuring that new insights are translated into real practice and lasting impact.

As a facilitator, Mads is engaging and humorous, and he is attentive to meeting leadership teams where they are, enabling concrete and practical outcomes in the training room.

Mads holds a degree in History from Aalborg University, is a certified coach from Animas Centre for Coaching in London and is currently training as a psychotherapist.

He also holds several certifications, including:

As a consultant, Mads is committed to strengthening organizations’ overall leadership capacity by increasing self-awareness—both for individual leaders and leadership teams—and thereby supporting the development of cultural norms across the organization that enhance change capacity, engagement, and well-being.
